SHIN-KA is a transdisciplinary research nexus dedicated to fostering a smarter, more sustainable future through human-centered evolution. Our core mission aligns with Society 5.0, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By bridging the gap between academia and industry, we focus on the following strategic pillars:

● Management of Technology & Innovation Policy: Developing frameworks to manage technological advancement and strategic policy-making.

● Smart Mobility & Digital Society: Creating "living labs," such as our Smart Mobility Campus project with PERODUA, to improve urban and campus navigation through integrated system development.

● Education Futures & AI Talent Development: Accelerating Malaysia’s workforce readiness through initiatives like the Blue Collar AI Talent program, focusing on specialized AI-skilled labor in collaboration with global industry leaders.

● Sustainable Innovation: Advancing knowledge in industrial design and self-generating systems, supported by international academic partnerships with the University of Tokyo and Yamaguchi University. Our focus remains on transformative research practices that empower both individuals and industries to thrive in a digital-first era.

  • Shin-Ka Research Centre: Located at Level 10 of the MJIIT building, this dedicated facility serves as a hub for seminars, workshops, training programs, and strategic meetings involving researchers and industry partners.
  • Intellectual Property and Innovation Laboratory (IJIPL): A shared facility located at Level 3, operated in collaboration with Yamaguchi University, Japan.

    • TRIZ Innovation Frameworks: Methodologies and expertise in Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ) used to drive systematic innovation and technical problem-solving within research projects.

    3. National (Technology): Strategic link with MaiStorage, a company connected to Phison (the world's largest IC manufacturer), to develop AI talent.
    4. International (Japan): An academic partnership with the University of Tokyo focuses on innovation and sustainability management research.

      1. Smart Mobility Campus Living Lab: An industrial engagement with PERODUA involving a RM 200k investment for system development and the sponsorship of 15 cars to improve student mobility on campus.
      2. AI Talent Development: A joint program initiated via an MOU with MaiStorage to accelerate the development of a "blue collar" AI-skilled workforce in Malaysia.
      3. Academic Program Development: Engagement with two prominent professors from the University of Tokyo to support the development of research and academic programs.
