Malaysia-Japan Joint Disaster Risk Reduction (MJ-DRR) 2025 Seminar

Kuala Lumpur, 9 October 2025 — The MJ-DRR Seminar 2025 convened more than 300 experts, policymakers, industry representatives and community leaders at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Kuala Lumpur, marking a significant milestone in strengthening Malaysia–Japan bilateral cooperation in disaster resilience.

Cross-Cultural Learning: Komaba Toho High School Visits MJIIT

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 2 – The Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), proudly welcomed Komaba Toho Junior and Senior High School, Tokyo, Japan, for a large-scale academic and cultural visit. The program was jointly organized with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Malaysia Office and facilitated through the Malaysia–Japan Linkages (MJL) Office.

UTM-MJIIT Strengthens Malaysia-Japan Academic and Industry Ties through Strategic Engagements in Tokyo Post-Osaka Expo 2025

TOKYO, July 25 – Following their successful participation at the Osaka Expo 2025 under the Malaysia Pavilion, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) through the Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT) continued its international mission by traveling to Tokyo for a series of academic and industrial engagements.

 

Strengthening Malaysia–Japan Relations Through Cultural Diplomacy Dialogue

KUALA LUMPUR, May 20 – The Cultural Diplomacy Talk program, organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) through the National Department for Culture and Arts (JKKN), in collaboration with the Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Kuala Lumpur, and the Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur, was successfully held at Dewan Azman Hashim, Menara Razak, UTM Kuala Lumpur.

 

UTM and JICA Strengthen Collaboration at 2nd JCC Meeting for MJL Project

Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) – Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT)** recently held the 2nd Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) Meeting to enhance the Malaysia-Japan Linkage (MJL) Office. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Mohd Shafry Mohd Rahim, Vice Chancellor of UTM, with representatives from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Headquarters in Tokyo participating virtually.

KUALA LUMPUR, May 6 – The Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), was deeply honoured to host a high-profile courtesy visit from the Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC) delegation, led by His Excellency Kishida Fumio, Former Prime Minister of Japan. The esteemed delegation comprised Honourable Members of the Japanese Parliament, His Excellency Shikata Noriyuki, Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia, senior representatives from key Japanese ministries, and Sugawara Minako, Chief Representative of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Malaysia.
