KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 6 — The Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Kuala Lumpur, successfully organized the First Year Experience 2025 (FYE2025) themed “Mirai e no Daiippo (未来への第一歩): The First Step Towards the Future”. The program gathered about 100 first-year students along with lecturers, committee members, representatives from UTM Kuala Lumpur Student Affairs Unit and MJIIT buddies in a day filled with engagement and impactful learning.

The program began with an inspiring Opening Remark by the Dean of MJIIT, Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Nurulakmar Abu Husain followed by a series of academic and support-system modules designed to prepare students for the transition to university life.
The modules covered UTM Graduate Attributes, highlighting the core qualities and competencies expected of all UTM graduates; the UTM Support System, which introduced key facilities, services and support channels available to students; and the UTM Semester System, providing guidance on credit hours, academic structure and assessment formats.
They also included the Advisory System, which outlined the roles of academic advisors and the importance of continuous guidance, as well as Learning Skills, equipping students with essential strategies for note-taking, time management, critical thinking and problem-solving.
A major highlight of FYE2025 was the Campus Treasure Hunt, which familiarized students with important UTMKL locations while strengthening teamwork, communication, and leadership. Students engaged in interactive tasks at each checkpoint and demonstrated creativity, discipline, and enthusiasm throughout the activity.



Throughout the day, students participated actively in learning activities, campus exploration, and team-based challenges. The Prize Giving Ceremony later recognized outstanding teams for their exceptional performance and enthusiasm.



The event concluded with a Closing Remark by the Deputy Dean of Academic and Student Development, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Roshafima Rasit Ali who emphasized the importance of student readiness and the supportive role of MJIIT in guiding students throughout their academic journey.

FYE2025 successfully marked the beginning of a promising pathway for new students as they take their first step towards a bright and meaningful future at MJIIT.
