Environmental Resilience & Sustainability (ERS)
The ERS iKohza envisions becoming a leading hub for interdisciplinary research that advances environmental resilience, sustainability, and community well-being across Malaysia and the ASEAN region. Its overarching objective is to integrate environmental systems, advanced technologies, and human health studies to deliver innovative, practical, and sustainable solutions for pressing global challenges. The key research focus areas include Environmental Systems, Sustainable Technologies and Human-Centered Research. These initiatives contribute to SDG 3 Good Health and Well-being, SDG 6 Clean Water and Sanitation, SDG 7 Affordable and Clean Energy, SDG 9 Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, SDG 11 Sustainable Cities and Communities and SDG 13 Climate Action. Aligned with the SDGs,, the iKohza leverages artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and mathematical modeling to enhance decision-making, disaster risk reduction, and sustainable environmental management.

Description of Research Focus Areas :
ERS iKohza conducts interdisciplinary research that integrates environmental systems, advanced technologies, and human health to address critical challenges in resilience and sustainability. Its focus includes flood modelling and forecasting, sediment transport, debris flow modeling and reservoir management, and to strengthen disaster preparedness and sustainable water resources. Complementary work on intelligent control systems, and optimization techniques promotes energy conservation and resource efficiency. In parallel, biosignal and biomechanical research explores human stress, health, and resilience under environmental pressures, enhancing community preparedness by linking environmental change to well-being. By leveraging artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and mathematical modeling, the iKohza delivers integrated solutions for disaster risk reduction and sustainable environmental management across Malaysia and ASEAN.
