Communication Systems & Networks (CSN)
Main research area encompasses advanced antenna technologies for various applications. For 5G systems, a multi-beam lens antenna is being developed using metamaterials, lens surface shaping, and optimized feed positioning. Similarly, a multi-beam reflector antenna with spherical and shaped reflectors is being designed for satellite and 5G communications. In the healthcare field, small antennas for in-body use are studied through design equations and human body simulations. For future 6G systems, undersea radio communication is explored by identifying suitable antennas and transmission ranges using seawater tank experiments. Additionally, radar cross section (RCS) analysis is conducted through simulations and measurements to enhance target detection capabilities. For UG students, lectures on communication systems, digital signal processing, wireless mobile systems and wireless antennas. With PG students, new antenna technologies are developing.

Description of Research Focus Areas:
Research 1: Lens and Metamaterial Antenna
For the 5G mobile system, a multi-beam lens antenna is being developed. Methods for shaping the lens surface, develop metamaterial structure of lens, analysis of feed positions, and calculations for multi-beam operation are key technologies.
Research 2: Reflector Antenna
For satellite and 5G mobile communications, a multi-beam reflector antenna is being developed. Reflectors composed of a spherical main reflector and a shaped sub-reflector are suitable for multi-beam characteristics. Determining the optimal antenna parameters is the primary research focus.
Research 3: Human Body Phantom
For human healthcare, small antennas intended for use inside the human body are under development. Design equation of small wire antennas and evaluation of antenna in a human body condition are the primary focus of the research.
Research 4: Undersea Radio Communication
For the 6G mobile system, radio communication will be extended to undersea areas. Identifying suitable antenna and communication distance are the main research subjects. Electromagnetic simulation and measurements in seawater tank are used for evaluation.
Research 5: Radar Cross Section
For detecting targets using radio wave equipment, the radar cross section (RCS) of a target is an important value. Electromagnetic simulation and measurements are used for research.
