Admission Requirement
MASTER OF DISASTER RISK MANAGEMENT (MMJDA1CKA)

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

This programme attempts to develop Disaster Risk Management (DRM) professionals who will be equipped with skill sets acquired through education, training, research and practice. This programme utilises its strong partnership with DRM-related agencies, NGOs and local governments.

The Programme’s ultimate goal is to establish a network of DRM professionals who can work together in building disaster resilience in their respective countries and communities. MDRM students will be a part of our network of DRM professionals consisting of people from various countries and backgrounds.

Programme Syllabus
Total Credits to Graduate: 42 Credits
Total Years to Graduate: 1 Year (2 semesters + 1 short semester)

    • Emergency Response Planning and Communication
    • Recovery and Reconstruction Management

    • Master Project 2

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

1. PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor

  1. Bachelor Degree in Science, Technology or Engineering or related field with minimum CGPA of 2.5/4.00 from institutions of higher learning recognized by the UTM senate (UK NARIC).
  2. For other degree than those mentioned above or CGPA or less than 2.5/4.00, minimum working experience of five years in the related field is required.

2. ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS (FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS):

International student need to meet specific English requirements in order to study at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). For UTM English requirement by country, qualification and list of country exempted from UTM English language requirement, kindly refer to http://admission.utm.my/english-language-requirements/

3. HEALTH REQUIREMENT:

International student must be certified by a medical doctor to be in a good health for the issuance of a student pass and/or student registration

4. STUDENT VISA

International students are required to have a student pass to study in Malaysia. UTM will assist international student in obtaining a visa and student pass. Visa and student pass requirements are subjects to change from time to time and varies between among countries. Fees for Local student is RM29,920 and International student is RM 36,004
