The Chemical Plant Design Project Final Presentation was held on 14 July 2022, in conjunction with the MJIIT Chemical Engineering Day 2022. There 63 students defended their capstone design project in 5 parallel presentation rooms, with 10 industrial evaluators (Petronas GTS, Petronas Carigali, Cenviro, Indah Water, Exen International and Antara Steel) and 8 external evaluators (UCSI University, UPM and Taylor’s University).

 

1. A panel discussion session on “Life as Engineers in Industry” was held. We are honoured to have Dr Sivapalan (Cenviro – EPIC), Ir Khor (Indah Water), Mr Rizal (Petronas GTS) and Mdm Grace Ann (Petronas GTS) as our panellists and Dr Vekes as the session moderator. The programme aimed to motivate the students for pursuing career in related industry and to ensure students are mentally prepared to the working world.

 

2. A sharing session on “Routes to Professional Engineers in Malaysia” was delivered by Ir Kiew and moderated by Ir Tan. The sharing aim to remind students for registering as graduate engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia and other learned society, and to expose the students with the industrial experiences needed for professional engineer application in the future.

 

3. Lastly, the Closing, Award and Farewell Ceremony were held with honoured attendance by the Deputy Dean of Academic and Student Affairs of MJIIT, AP Dr Azwadi. The winners of the Best Individual Equipment Design Presentation Award 2022, the Best Final Year Project Presentation Award 2022 and the Best Chemical Plant Design Project Award 2022 were announced during the ceremony.
