HOD’s Welcome Notes

Welcome to the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering (ChEE)

We started our journey in 2012 offering the Bachelor of Chemical Process Engineering with Honours degree. The dictum ‘Engineering the Nation with Precision for Sustainable Development’ sums up our desire to produce knowledgeable human capital towards the advancement and development of state-of-the-art technology and processes while safeguarding the environment that sustains us. The blend of Malaysian, Japanese as well as other international professors engaged in research and supervision in our programme and the diversity of foreign students would surely bring about a global experience within the campus environment.

The department works closely with Japanese universities and industries to create a distinctive working culture and employs a holistic approach in our programme. Every year, our students have the opportunity to go to Japan for attachment including Industrial Training, Sakura Science Programme and many more.
