On 28th November 2020, we`ve got big news where the members of TriPreM (Tribology and Precision Machining), Mr. Zaid under the supervision of Prof dr. Kanao Fukuda, MJIIT (Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology), UTM (Universiti Teknologi Malaysia) won the Best Paper Award at ITRS-2020 (International Tribology Symposium 2020) with our fundamental tribology research.
On 18th September 2020, The event of MJIIT Appreciation Day 2020 was held at Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur. Good news for TriPreM members because 3 of our members won the prizes. the first award, “Most Inspiring Lecturer” for Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nur’azah, second award, “Best Master Project Supervisor” for Dr. Shahira Liza, and third award “High Achievement in Research Grants” for Prof. Dr. Fukuda. A memorial photograph was taken with Pro-Vice-Chancellor (UTM Kuala Lumpur Campus) Prof. Dr. Shamsul Sahibuddin and MJIIT Dean Prof. Dr. Ali Selamat.
On 25th August 2020, TriPreM had a visit by the new chief representative of the JICA Malaysia office, Mr. Takizawa. They were the first visitor that visit our laboratory during the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO). We hope this pandemic will end soon.
On 21st February, TriPreM had a visit by Prof. Miyashita and Prof. Yoshida from Waseda University, Japan. We introduced our research activities to the professors. It’s always interesting to discuss research topics with excellent specialists.
On 30th January 2020, Prof Kanao Fukuda was invited to give a speech about “Effects of trace humidity in atmospheric gas on the tribological behaviors of metallic materials” at Hydrogen Tribology Symposium held by Kyushu University.
On 5th Feb., he visited the facilities of Prof. Ohtake and Assoc. Prof. Akasaka of Tokyo Institute of Technology where Dr. Shahira of TriPreM stays 6 months as a post-doctoral researcher. Their research activities are fabulous. We got an agreement to start PG students exchange and collaborative research. I also saw my long-time acquaintances, Prof. Masuko, and Prof. Kyogoku at the Suzukake-dai campus of Tokyo Tech.
On 6th Dec. 2019, TriPreM organized special lectures presented by our guests, Prof. Hanahara and Prof. Mizumoto from Iwate University, Japan. Thanks to the professors for their precious talks. Thank you very much for your valuable lecture and for visiting us. We are looking forward to more visit from them.
