The 5th Malaysia-Japan Tribology Symposium(MJTS) will be held on 28th–30th August 2017, at Malaysia – Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur (UTM-KL) Malaysia.

MJTS has been held since 2012 by MJIIT UTM KL with collaborations from the Malaysian Tribology Society (MYTRIBOS) and Japanese Society of Tribologists (JAST). This symposium helps in enhancing communication between researchers, engineers, and students in the Tribology field from Malaysia and Japan.

Topics:
It will highlight all aspects in the field of Tribology and Manufacturing.

Purpose:
To provide the opportunity for participants to display the results of their research, as well as enhancing presentation skills of young researchers / students.
In addition, industries will be able to showcase their products and latest technologies to researchers in Tribology field.

Our Condolences for the passing of Professor H Peter Jost

Tribology and Precision Machining i-Kohza (TriPreM) wishes to express our condolences on the passing of Professor H Peter Jost, President of International Tribology Council ITC, and the Father of Tribology. TriPreM learnt of his passing on 7th June 2016.

Our thoughts and prayers are with him.

Lecture on Fundamentals of Tribology, Penang Seagate

On 24th March 2015, Prof Dr Kanao Fukuda delivered a lecture on the Fundamentals of Tribology during his visit to Penang Seagate Industries (M) Sdn Bhd.

The lecture was one of the activities following the visit’s main purpose, which was to produce a report on the progress on the contracted research between TriPreM and Seagate.

Prof. Dr. Kanao Fukuda presented a paper titled “Differences in Growth and Transfer of Adhesive Substance in Early Stage of Sliding between Austenitic Stainless Steel and Pure Cu” and chaired a session of “Fundamental of Tribology” at one of most prestigious conferences on tribology, International Tribology Conference (ITC) 2015 which was held at Tokyo University of Science, Japan from 16th till 20th September, 2015.
