19th Jan 2022- Visit from Nottingham Malaysia (Lab under Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Pau-Loke Show).

The purpose of the meeting and visit is to exchange knowledge in microalgae field. Students from both Lab (Algae lab and Nottingham team) introduce about their research topics.

22nd April 2022-The first visit from Euglena Japan to Algae lab.

26th May 2022- Visit from Euglena Japan and Leave a Nest

After our initial visit last April, Leave a Nest, acting as a mediator or sister company to Euglena Japan, aims to facilitate another visit for Euglena members to the Algae Lab. This visit will further fortify the future collaboration plans between Algae Lab, MJIIT, UTM, and Euglena company.

9th October 2022- Visit from MOFA Minister OSCA

Associate Dr. Koji Iwamoto explained algae to the guests while showcasing algae cultured in flasks and specimens collected from topsoil.

19th February 2023- Visit from three company representative; Euglena, Rohto and Leave a Nest.

*Sharing insights on the development of algae cultivation, while exchanging knowledge and ideas on microalgae-related technology, and discussing potential collaboration with a Japanese company.

Another purpose of Euglena Japan’s visit to the Algae Lab is to see the newly established satellite research lab, Euglena-Algae-UTM, at MJIIT, UTM KL.

24th May 2023: Visit from ITC professor to Algae lab.

The representative is interested in establishing an algae lab at their institute. However, they lack expertise and experience in the algae field. Therefore, they visited to learn more about algae and explore potential collaboration or knowledge sharing opportunities with the Algae Lab.

25th June 2023: Visit from MEXT Minister of Japan.

*the Minister came to visit to see the technology in culturing the microalgae in Malaysia.

27th July 2023: Visit from Euglena Bangladesh

*Representative from Euglena Bangladesh came to visit Euglena-Algae-UTM new satellite Research lab in MJIIT, UTM KL.

27th July 2023: Visit from UAE Khalifa University

3rd August 2023: Visit from H20 Datatech company

*The H20 Datatech company interested to collaborate with Algae lab in the research related to microalgae and wastewater.

*PIC of the lab, Dr Koji Iwamoto showed the representative Algae lab.

8th August 2023: Visit from Simedarby team. 

*Mr Inaba explained Euglena company on-going research project to the team.

8th August 2023: Visit from Petronas Research Peoples

*Dr. Koji Iwamoto and Mr. Inaba-san gave a brief introduction to the algae laboratory, including all available equipment and safety rules in the lab.

On the middle of August, Institute of Technology Cambodia (ITC) send Mr. Ratha to Algae Lab for training of basic knowledge how to culture microalgae.

*Ms Shartika, the lab assistant research officer explain to the ITC staff how to operate autoclave machine for sterilization purpose.

22nd August 2023: Visit from principle of Taitec Japan and representative from QC instrument to offer courtest and appreciation for using Taitec product.

31st August 2023: Mr Takarada University of Tsukuba alumni came to visit Algae Lab and meet Dr. Koji Iwamoto.

1st September 2023- Visit from students of Muroran Institute of Technology, Japan.

5th September 2023- Visit from Prof.  and  Tsukuba University students

21st September 2023-Visit from Rhoto, Mr. Shinoda (center right) and Mr. Satoshi Umno of Sustainable Food Asia (left).

3rd October 2023- Visit from Galdieria company,Japan.

17th May 2024- NaSIC 2024 was a program involving High school students from different schools has requested a lab visit to Algae lab.

They are divide into two groups; G1 students from College Form 6 Seri Istana, SMK Tmn Ehsan, School of Indonesia Kuala Lumpur, and G2 students from SM Science Hulu Selangor, SMK Majidi Baru 2, SM ScienceAlam Shah.
