THEME & FOCUS AREAS
The global economy is undergoing a structural shift as resource scarcity, climate change, and escalating waste generation challenge the viability of traditional linear production systems. The dominant “take-make-dispose” model is no longer compatible with net-zero ambitions, resilient supply chains, or sustainable urban development.
Circularity Reimagined positions the circular economy as a systemic redesign of how value is created, retained, and regenerated across society. It moves beyond incremental improvements in waste management to a transformative agenda that integrates design innovation, industrial restructuring, and resource intelligence.
At its core, circularity is no longer a downstream environmental solution it is an upstream economic and innovation strategy. It redefines waste as a design flaw, materials as perpetual assets, and systems as interconnected value loops. Achieving this transition requires convergence across policy, technology, finance, and behavioural systems, supported by digitalisation and data-driven resource management.
This conference provides a platform to accelerate actionable circular transitions across sectors, with emphasis on scalable solutions, measurable impact, and cross-border collaboration. It brings together policymakers, researchers, industry leaders, and innovators to shape pathways toward a low-carbon, resource-efficient, and regenerative future.
Conference Focus Areas / Sub-Themes
1. Circular Policy & Governance
Strengthening national and local frameworks for circular economy adoption, including Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), regulatory instruments, and circular procurement systems.
2. Circular Cities & Urban Systems
Advancing zero-waste cities, urban metabolism optimisation, resource recovery systems, and circular infrastructure planning for sustainable urban futures.
3. Industrial Symbiosis & Supply Chains
Enabling cross-sector resource exchange, eco-industrial parks, and circular supply chain redesign to improve material efficiency and reduce waste leakage.
4. Waste-to-Resource Innovation
Transforming waste streams into valuable resources through advanced recycling, waste-to-energy systems, and bio-based conversion technologies.
5. Digital Circular Economy
Leveraging AI, IoT, blockchain, and digital twins for material tracking, smart waste management, lifecycle optimisation, and circular analytics.
6. Climate-Circular Nexus
Integrating circular strategies into net-zero pathways through methane reduction, carbon accounting, and regenerative system design.
7. Circular Business & Finance Models
Scaling product-as-a-service models, ESG-driven investment, green financing mechanisms, and circular enterprise innovation.
8. Materials & Product Innovation
Promoting eco-design, design for disassembly, sustainable materials, and lifecycle-based product development for circularity by design.
9. Circular Society & Behavioural Change
Driving societal transition through education, consumer behaviour change, community participation, and inclusive circular economy adoption.
