Dr. Shahira Liza (along with other team members) won the MYTRIBOS Special Award (Best Poster). Together with them, Professor Dr Yutaka Kameyama and other winners from Tokyo City University<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>7th Malaysia\u2013Japan Tribology Symposium (MJTS2026)<\/strong> was successfully held from <strong>27\u201329 July 2026 at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur<\/strong>. Organised by <strong>TriPreM, MJIIT<\/strong>, together with the <strong>Japanese Society of Tribologists (JAST)<\/strong> and the <strong>Malaysian Tribology Society (MYTRIBOS)<\/strong>, the symposium continued its role as a platform for strengthening research and professional connections between Malaysia and Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MJTS2026 brought together researchers, students and industry representatives through keynote lectures, an industry\u2013academia\u2013government forum, oral and poster presentations, industry pitching, networking activities, laboratory engagement and a technical excursion. The technical programme featured <strong>50 research presentations<\/strong>, comprising <strong>20 oral and 30 poster presentations<\/strong>, with participants representing Malaysia, Japan and Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are also proud to celebrate the achievements of <strong>TriPreM members<\/strong> who received awards during MJTS2026. <strong>Nurul Fatihah Binti Mohd Safri<\/strong>, together with her research team, received the <strong>MYTRIBOS Special &#8211; Best Poster Award<\/strong> for their work on <em>Effect of Shot Peening-Induced Surface Integrity on the Mechanical and Tribological Performance of Trivalent Chromium Coatings<\/em>. Meanwhile, <strong>Wong Zi Jie<\/strong> received the <strong>MJTS Best Poster Presenter Award<\/strong> for his presentation on <em>Effect of Relative Humidity and Countersurface Roughness on Tribological Properties of Rubber-Metal Sliding<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beyond the technical sessions, Japanese participants and TriPreM members also joined a technical excursion to <strong>Ladang Krau 4<\/strong>, <strong>Kilang Sawit Mempaga<\/strong>, and the <strong>Royal Selangor Visitor Centre<\/strong>, providing opportunities to connect tribology research with real industrial operations and Malaysian manufacturing heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MJTS2026 was not only about sharing research\u2014it was about <strong>building connections, encouraging young researchers and creating new possibilities for Malaysia\u2013Japan collaboration<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Read the full MJTS2026 report on the webpage [MJTS2026] for more highlights, award recipients, participant statistics and programme outcomes.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 7th Malaysia\u2013Japan Tribology Symposium (MJTS2026) was successfully held from 27\u201329 July 2026 at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur.
