Associate Professor Dr. Wira Jazair Yahyawira

Associate Professor Dr. Wira Jazair Yahya is with Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Kuala Lumpur and a member of the Innovative Engineering Research Alliance, UTM. He received his B. Eng. in 2000 and M. Eng. in 2002 respectively from Kagoshima University, Japan. From 2002 to 2003, he began working as an R&D Engineer at the Linear Generator Group, Universiti Teknologi Petronas, Malaysia.  Still in line with his researcher background, he then worked as a lecturer at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia until 2004, the year he started pursuing his Ph.D. degree at the University of Tokushima, Japan, only to graduate in 2008. He returned to Malaysia and became a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in UTM, which in 2011, transferred him to the MJIIT in Kuala Lumpur.

Associate Professor Ir. Dr. Saiful Amri Mazlan

Associate Professor Ir. Dr. Saiful Amri Mazlan received his Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) in 1998, and Master of Engineering (Manufacturing Systems) in 2002 from the National University of Malaysia. He obtained Ph.D. (Engineering) in 2008 from Dublin City University, Republic of Ireland, where afterward he was appointed as a postdoctoral researcher in 2010 for a year. He has gained various working experiences as he worked with several industrial companies before joining the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He is a member of several professional bodies and associations such as Board of Engineers Malaysia, ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE), EMF Engineer (Int. PE(My)), APEC Engineer, ASEAN Engineer and The Institute of Engineers Malaysia (MIEM). Currently, he is the Head of Department for Mechanical Precision Engineering (MPE) at Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT), UTM.

Associate Professor Dr. Hairi Zamzuri

Associate Professor Dr. Hairi Zamzuri is an experienced researcher in the field of active vehicle safety and automated driving technology. In 2009, he was promoted to senior lecturer at the UTM’s Razak School of Engineering and Advanced Technology and was transferred to the MJIIT in 2014, where he managed to supervise 19 students (13 Ph.D., 5 Master) and graduated two PhDs. He received his B.Electrical Eng in Control System and Master of Electrical Engineering right here at the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) while obtaining his Ph.D. in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Control Design from the Loughborough University, UK. His research interest is in the autonomous and intelligent vehicle, plus the integrated vehicle dynamic control and active safety technology for a ground vehicle. Between 2011 to 2013, he was head at a collaboration research lab between UTM and the Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional Sdn Bhd (Proton).

Dr. Mohd Azizi Abdul Rahman Ph.D., MIEEE, MIET

Dr. Mohd Azizi Abdul Rahman (Head of Ikohza) is a senior lecturer at the MJIIT for the Department of Electronic Systems Engineering (ESE) where he is the head of Advanced Robotic Laboratory. He obtained his Ph.D. in 2013 from Shibaura Institute of Technology, Japan, after completing his Diploma (Electrical) in 2003 from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Bachelor Degree (Electrical) in 2005 from the University of Liverpool, UK, and a Master Degree from Universiti Putra, Malaysia in 2009. Since then, he worked as a researcher in various institutions in Malaysia and Japan, with his latest assignment in 2015 as a project engineer at the UTM-Proton Active Safety Satellite Lab for the Active Blind Spot Assist System Project.

Dr. Ahmad Muhsin bin Ithnin  

Dr. Ahmad Muhsin bin Ithnin is the youngest senior lecturer at the Department of Mechanical Precision Engineering (MPE). Having finished his BEng in 2012 at the UTM Skudai with a remarkable Dean’s Award, he continued pursuing his Ph.D. at the Kuala Lumpur UTM campus, only to be awarded as Best Postgraduate Student as he graduated on time in 2015. Currently, he is actively supervising several Ph.D. and Master candidates at the VSE Ikohza, while altogether overseeing the brand new Advanced Precision laboratory as the Head of Lab.

Dr Mohd Hatta Mohammed Ariff

Dr Mohd Hatta Mohammed Ariff is a senior lecturer at the MJIIT for the Department of Electronic Systems Engineering (ESE). He received his BEng. in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from the University of Liverpool, UK where he was awarded a prestigious IET Prize 2005 for best performance during his undergraduate study. Later, he received his MSc. in High Voltage Engineering from Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2010 and obtained his Ph.D. from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2016. Currently, he attached to Advanced Vehicle System Laboratory, MJIIT and actively supervising several postgraduate and undergraduate students at MJIIT.
