INTRODUCTION<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In recent years, construction industry has seen enormous changes presenting the civil engineering profession with a host of new challenges. To meet these challenges, practicing engineers and students alike are required to keep abreast with the state-of-the-art knowledge on various aspects of civil engineering. As part of the Faculty of Civil engineering, the Department of Structures and Materials has been just doing that: acting as a facilitator in acquiring and adapting to the new technologies, and attempting to advance them forward. It has been offering specially tailored foundation courses and providing advanced training on planning, structural analysis and design, civil engineering materials and construction management to undergraduate and postgraduate students since 1972.<\/span><\/p>\n

Currently, the Department has a total number of 65 academic staff including 13 Professors and 19 Associate Professors. Besides academic staff the department has 13 experienced and dedicated supporting staff including senior technicians and laboratory assistants.<\/span><\/p>\n
