A student shall carry out research in any of the areas of research stated in Areas of Research Section.\u00a0 Assessment will be based on the progress reports of each semester and a thesis examination (viva voce) at the end of the study.\u00a0 All research work is supervised by a lecturer or a panel of lecturers from the Graduate Faculty.<\/p>\n<p>For the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D), the progress of the student is assessed each semester through a progress report.\u00a0 The degree is awarded based on a comprehensive examination (viva voce) of the doctoral thesis submitted by the student at end of study.\u00a0 All Ph.D research is supervised by a lecturer or a panel of lecturers from the Graduate Faculty.\u00a0 Co-supervisors may also be selected from a related industry based on the approval from the Graduate Faculty.<\/p>\n<p>Field of Research includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Structural Engineering, Bridge, Tall Building, Offshore Structures Water Retaining Structure;<\/li>\n<li>Ultimate Strength and Plastic Theory;<\/li>\n<li>Structural Dynamics;<\/li>\n<li>Civil Engineering Materials;<\/li>\n<li>Construction Technology;<\/li>\n<li>Construction Management;<\/li>\n<li>Concrete Technology;<\/li>\n<li>Structural Masonry;<\/li>\n<li>Timber Technology;<\/li>\n<li>Steel Design and Construction;<\/li>\n<li>Computer Aided Design;<\/li>\n<li>Reinforced and Prestressed Concrete.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Master of Engineering (civil &#8211; structure) Master of Engineering (civil) Master of Engineering (civil &#8211; construction management) Master of Science (construction management) Other than taught courses, the department also received numerous applications on masters and Ph.D by research.
