It is my great pleasure to extend my sincere welcome to all of you who are visiting our Disaster Preparedness and Prevention Centre Homepage.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

The Disaster Preparedness and Prevention Centre, DPPC, established under MJIIT, carrying the mandate of the Look East Policy 2nd Wave (Look East Policy 2.0) in becoming an R&D centre for disaster management for Malaysia and her neighbouring countries as well as providing opportunities of hands-on training on up-to-date disaster countermeasures to those who are practicing disaster management in the field.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

One of the unique and advantageous characteristics of DPPC is the close collaboration between DPPC and Japanese universities and institutes.\u00a0 The Japan University Consortium (JUC), which has about 30 member universities and institutes, now has a disaster risk management sub-committee chaired by University of Tsukuba and co-chaired by Kyoto University and Kyushu University. The Disaster Management sub-committee is the hub on Japanese side to support our activities including joint R&D and Disaster Risk Management educational program at Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT).\u00a0 Other members\u00a0 of JUC DRM sub-committee include Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Kanazawa University, Shibaura Institute of Technology, Yamaguchi University, CHARM (International Centre for Water Hazard and Risk Management) and NIED (the National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Resilience).<\/span><\/p>\r\n

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation for your interest and expectations to the DPPC.<\/span><\/p>\r\n
