Message from the Head of Department (HOD)
Welcome to the Chemical Process Engineering Department.
We started our journey in 2012 offering the Bachelor of Chemical Process Engineering degree. The dictum ‘Engineering the Nation with Precision for Sustainable Development’ sums up our desire to produce knowledgeable human capital towards the advancement and development of state-of-the-art technology and processes while safeguarding the environment that sustains us. The blend of Malaysian, Japanese as well as other international professors engaged in research and supervision in our programme and the diversity of foreign students would surely bring about a global experience within the campus environment.
The department works closely with Japanese universities and industries to create a distinctive working culture and employs a holistic approach in our programme. Every year, our students have the opportunity to go to Japan for attachment including Industrial Training, Sakura Science Programme and many more.

It was a great 4 years journey at Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT). The subject offered meet industry requirement. Foreign and local lecturers are really friendly. The unforgettable memory was I got an opportunity given by MJIIT to do my internship in Japan for 3 months, great culture and environment there. Only in MJIIT you have a high chance to go to Japan. Study hard, grab a chance if you see one, build your soft skills and you will become successful in future.
As a MJIIT Student, the most unforgettable experience would be the chances to connect with Japanese Culture. We are required to learn Japanese Language in MJIIT which open many doors of opportunity for us. MJIIT also hosted Japan day each year to introduce Japanese Culture to the students. I was also lucky to be given the chances to go to Japan not only once but twice which were Student Exchange through AIMS program and Internship program. The Final Year was the most challenging year, which we need to excel in time management, handle the workload together as a team and perform efficient communication between Supervisor and Teammate during discussion for fruitful outcome. Through this Final Year Experience, we have grown up to become a more versatile graduate with good interpersonal skills and technical knowledge.
