Congratulations to undergraduate students on Receiving Awards in MJIIT Final Year Project Symposium 2019

MJIIT FINAL YEAR PROJECT SYMPOSIUM 2019 is a showcase for undergraduate research across disciplines to present about their final year project. The Symposium includes poster and presentation sessions by students. The symposium was examined by Industrial and Academic panels with different backgrounds to evaluate students’ project.

There are three categories nominated which are Best Final Year Project, Industrial Revolution 4.0 and Best Manufacturing Project. Congratulations to our TriPreM Undergraduate students, Muhammad Saifulnizam B. Mohd Yunus, and Shukri Nazri on winning the Best Manufacturing Project and also Muhammad Amirul Adha Bin Mohd Khalid on winning Best Final Year Project at MJIIT FINAL YEAR PROJECT SYMPOSIUM 2019. The event was organized by Malaysian – Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT), UTM KL sponsored by MSM Metal Industries Sdn Bhd on 16 May 2019. Saifulnizam, Shukri, and Adha presented their project on “Tribological Characterization of Anodic Composite Film Reinforced with Fly Ash Particles”, “ Tribological Characterization for Polyoxymethylene (POM) Reinforced by Oilpalm Empty Fruit Bunch (OPEFB)” and “Multiple Lubricant with Ultrasonic Excitation” respectively.

Visit by Dr. Abe (AIST, Japan)

TriPreM (Tribology and Precision Machining i-Kohza) had a visitor from AIST (National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology) Japan. Dr. Abe is the authority on standard gas generation and measurement technology of humidity. He is also the co-inventor of the trace-humidity controller patent of mine which is granted in Japan. We discussed the possibility of collaboration work on humidity control technology between MJIIT and AIST.

TriPreM received visitors from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japan

On 5 April 2019, TriPreM (Tribology and Precision Machining i-Kohza) had visitors from MOF (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) Japan and Embassy of Japan in Malaysia. Prof. Fukuda explained Japanese style education and research practiced in MJIIT.

Congratulations to Syazwani on Receiving Gold Award

Congratulations to our Masters student, Syazwani Mohamad on winning Gold Award at Materials Technology Challenges (MTC2019). The competition was organized by Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Serdang on 27 March 2019. Syazwani presented her research on “Strengthening of Mechanical Properties of Oxide Films Formed on Aluminium Alloy with the Addition of Graphite”. Congrats!!

 

Visit from Representative of Japanese Government

TriPreM had visitors from Japanese government; MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology), MOF (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and Embassy of Japan in Malaysia on 11th Mar. 2019.

Welcoming New Research Assistant to TriPreM

Invited Speech at PROTON R&D

On 22 February 2019, Prof. Dr. Kanao Fukuda was invited to give a lecture titled “Introduction to Tribology and How It Contributes to Industries” at PROTON Research & Development, Shah Alam. The lecture was assisted by the PROTON’s Head of Advanced Engineering, Ir. Azmi bin Osman and was attended by PROTON’S engineers. Fruitful discussion was made between PROTON R&D and TriPreM members.

Invited Speech by Prof. Dr. Fukuda to Meijyo University, Nagoya

On 29 January 2019, our Head of iKohza, Prof. Dr. Kanao Fukuda was invited to give a speech for for Tokai tribology workshop at Meijyo University, Nagoya. His speech was entitled “Relationship between water in environmental gases and friction and wear phenomena”.
